Alessandra De Rossi, Richard Quan Cast In Korean Film ‘Mango Tree’Filipino artists Alessandra de Rossi and Richard Quan have been cast in a Korean film titled “Mango Tree”.
The information comes from the Philippine Daily Inquirer which says that Filipino director Adolfo Alix Jr. was the one who recommended de Rossi for the film which stars Korean star Seo Ji-seok who has done shows like “Pure in Heart,” “Mr. Goodbye,” “Manny” and “Ireland” and movies like “The Etudes of Love” and “The Bow.”
According to Lee Soo-sung, the director of the film, “Among the Filipino actresses he recommended, De Rossi best suited the role of Maria, a simple girl.”
Furthermore, Lee said that de Rossi has an “important” part in the film. She only has brief parts which were recently shot in Cebu but “She is the reason that a young Korean comes back to the Philippines,” Lee said.
According to the Inquirer, de Rossi worked with the Korean crew of the film in Cebu for two days and then immediately flew to Manila for the Cinemalaya launch this week. She has a film for the festival titled “The Liars”.
“Mango Tree” was described by the publication as a romantic-comedy film, the third feature film for director Lee.
De Rossi has worked with international film crews in the past: in 2005 for a Singaporean film titled “The Maid” and in 2009 for a Taiwanese film titled “Pinoy Sunday”.
