Barretto was supposed so star in the remake of "Cofradia" but the Kapamilya network decided to forego with that teleserye following concerns from the public that it might raise discriminatory issues against dark-skinned people.
It will also supposedly teach the wrong values to the young people who is targeted to be its viewers because the show might make them think that only fair-skinned people are beautiful.
