"10,000 Hours" Is A Big Winner During 2013 MMFF Awards

Robin Padilla's "10,000 Hours" was the biggest winner of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival Awards. It bagged 14 trophies out of the 20 awards from the main category.

Robin won as the best actor, beating Rocco Nacino of "Pedro Calungsod," Vice Ganda of "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy," ER Ejercito of "Boy Golden," Vic Sotto of "My Little Bossings" and Daniel Padilla of "Pagpag."

Maricel Soriano, who played the mother of quadruplets in "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy," won the Best Actress award, besting KC Concepcion for "Boy Golden," Eugene Domingo for "Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel" and Kathryn Bernardo of "Pagpag."

"10,000 Hours" won major awards such as Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director for Bb. Joyce Bernal. It also bagged the following awards: Best Festival Sound Recording, Best Musical Score, Best Visual Effects, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, FPJ Memorial Award for Film Excellence, Best Original Story, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor (Pen Medina) and the Gat Puno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award.

The box-office hits "My Little Bossings" and "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" got 3rd Best Picture and 2nd Best Picture, respectively.

Other winners are "Boy Golden" for Best Float Award, "Pagpag Siyam Na Buhay" for Youth Choice Award, Ryzza Mae Dizon of "My Little Bossings" for Best Child Performer, "My Little Bossings" for Best Original Theme Song, "Pagpag" for Best Makeup, "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" for Gender Sensitivity Award Main Category, Ronnie Rickets for Special Recognition Award, Daniel Padilla as Mavshack Male Star of the Night, Eugene Domingo as Mavshack Female Star of the Night and Aiza Seguerra of "My Little Bossings" for Best Supporting Actress.

In the New Wave Category, the New Wave Student Short Film Special Jury Prize went to "#NoFilter" of the Mapua Institute of Technology; New Wave Short Film Best Picture, "Ang Paglisan"; Best New Wave Film, "Dukit" by Armando Lao; Animation Jury Prize, "Ang Lalong Ni Kulakog"; Animation Best Picture, Kaleh and Mbaki; Best New Wave Film Director, Armando Lao; New Wave Best Actress, Agot Isidro; New Wave Best Actor, Bor Ocampo, Willy Layug, Bambalito Lacap for "Dukit"; New Wave Special Jury Prize, "Mga Anino ng Kahapon"; New Wave Best Picture, "Dukit"; Gender Sensitive Award, "Island Dreams"; and Gender Sensitive Award--New Wave Student Category, "Hintayin Mo Sa Seq. 24."

The eight entries for the MMFF 2013 will run from December 25 to January 7.
