"Sakto" Replaces Korina Sanchez's Show On DZMMMarc Logan's and Amy Perez's "Sakto" will officially replace Korina Sanchez's vacated timeslot on DZMM, "Rated Korina."
News came out over the weekend that the popular broadcaster was fired from her own show because of her vocal defense of husband DILG Secretary Mar Roxas during the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda.
Secretary Roxas was in charge of the relief operations in eastern Visayas when CNN anchor Anderson Cooper questioned the presence of the Philippine government in Tacloban City, the province most hit by the typhoon.
Korina took to her radio program to defend her husband and criticize Anderson's reporting style. Anderson, however, answered back on his own show and even hinted that Korina may be biased because she is the wife of the said government official.
For a while, Korina was absent from her show, causing some to think that she was suspended because of that verbal altercation with the CNN anchor. The broadcaster, however, came back and said she only took a leave.
But on Saturday, Korina clarified she wasn't fired from the DZMM show and instead, she wanted to focus on her postgraduate studies. The management was already informed of her plans as early as mid-2013, she added.
The replacement, "Sakto," will be anchored by Marc and Amy. It will tackle social issues albeit in a lighter tone and manner. It will also delve extensively into family matters, human interest stories and success tales that are bound to inspire the masses.
The segment "Panalo Ka Diyan" will give parents a chance to showcase their talents and their children's achievements. They can show pictures of the most memorable events in their lives.
In the segments "Nay Ko Po" and "Tay Naman," moms and dads are given special focus and attention. The hosts will also aim to help housewives plan their weekly food budget through recipes in the segment "Lutong Bahay."
Aside from these, Amy and Marc will also be discussing trending personalities in the segment "Guest Who." They will also aim to give advices to parents as they deal with different problems at home.
"Sakto" will air Mondays to Fridays from 10 a.m. on DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26) and online livestreaming on dzmm.com.ph.
