"My Girl" Returns To Television Through ABS-CBN And Jeepney TVABS-CBN and Jeepney TV is bringing back another hit koreanovela "My Girl" which starred Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook. The koreanovela is dubbed in Tagalog, and will premiere on local cable television channel Jeepney TV and on ABS-CBN on July 14 (Monday).
"My Girl," which first aired in 2006 also on ABS-CBN, is one of the most celebrated romantic-comedies in the Korean entertainment industry. ABS-CBN even produced a local adaptation starring Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu two years after the original story aired.
In the story, Jasmine (Da Hae) lived with her gambling-addicted father in Jeju Island. But because of their debts, her father decided to leave Jasmine alone to support herself and pay off their debts. Jasmine worked as a tour guide in the island and also sold oranges illegally picked from a nearby orchard owned by the family that also run the L'Avenue Hotel.
She met a young, handsome man named Julian (Dong Wook), the heir to the hotel fortune and the grandson of a man who is looking for his long-lost granddaughter. Because Jasmine looked exactly like Julian's cousin, he hired her to pretend for his grandfather, who at that time has fallen terminally ill already.
Julian offered to pay her monthly salary and bonuses, in addition to living in their mansion. Jasmine agreed because of the money, but little did she know that she will also fall for Julian and his kind and warm-hearted family.
How then will they fight for their love, especially since Julian is in a relationship with a renowned Korean tennis star? Julian's bestfriend (Lee Jun Ki) also fell hard for Jasmine.
"My Girl" will air on Jeepney TV every 8PM and on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block.
Currently, Dong Wook and Da Hae are doing another koreanovela entitled "Hotel King." This is their reunion project after nine years since "My Girl."
