Judy Ann Santos Stars In "T'yanak" RemakeJudy Ann Santos will topbill the remake of the horror film, "T'yanak," a 1988 cult classic co-directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes.
Judy Ann will star in the movie with Tom Rodriguez, Solenn Heussaff and Sid Lucero. Juday and Solenn already took part in the script reading, and will start their shooting on September 2.
"T'yanak," which originally starred Janice de Belen, tells the story of a childless woman who adopted a baby that turned out to be a demon in disguise. It won the Gawad Urian Award for Best Sound in 1988.
This remake will again be directed by Direk Peque and Direk Lore. In the film, the town Puting Bato will be terrorized by murders. The people there will point to the child adopted by Julie (Juday). Tom will play the role of Mark, Juday's brother, while Solenn is Madie, Mark's fiance.
Mark and Madie will be the target of the "T'yanak." Sid, on the other hand, will play the role of a widower who lost his wife because of a "T'yanak" attack.
In an earlier interview, Direk Peque said he wants to remake "T'yanak" again because of the digital advantage these days. In the original movie, they only used hand puppets.
"T'yanak" will take part in the Horror Festival organized by the Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
