Abs-cbn: Kris Aquino Agrees To Take A Leave InsteadABS-CBN has ended speculations over Kris Aquino’s resignation from all her TV shows. The giant TV network has issued an official statement about the matter. The company’s Integrated Corporate Communications head Bong R. Osorio clarified the station’s stand on the issue.
According to the statement released on Wednesday (April 17), Kris Aquino agreed not to resign from her shows in the network. Instead, she would take a leave for a while. Aquino and the network’s executives have discussed Aquino’s impulsive resignation. But after the talks, she agreed to stay.
In the same statement, it was emphasized that ABS-CBN understands and honors Aquino’s intention to devote more time to her sons, Josh and Bimby. The leave of absence would give Aquino the chance to spend more time with her children. Bimby would take a school break in June while Josh would have to travel abroad for a medical checkup for his developmental progress.
It was revealed that Aquino would return to her commitments with the network after the leave. ABS-CBN said Aquino honors the responsibilities and commitments she have with the network. The company said it would make sure Aquino’s contractual obligations would not impair her real-life role as a mother.
Before Holy Week, Aquino surprised everyone when she announced in a media interview that she is resigning from all her current TV shows. She said this is to give more of her time to her children. Aquino got into a word war with her estranged husband and PBA star James Yap, who has been accusing her of brainwashing their son Bimby.
Aquino currently hosts a daily morning TV talk show ‘Kris TV.’ She is also one of the three resident judges of the talent show ‘Pilipinas Got Talent,’ which airs every weekend primetime. Meanwhile, her primetime soap ‘Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw’ (with co-stars Robin Padilla and Anne Curtis) is set to end this week.
