ABS-CBN'S "Annaliza" Airs On May 27

ABS-CBN will soon premiere its remake of the popular 1980s teleserye "Annaliza."

This time, instead of Julie Vega, it will be topbilled by new child actress Andrea Brillantes, who was first seen on "E-Boy," "Sabel," "Paraiso," "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" and "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan."

Joining Brillantes in the teleserye is Zanjoe Marudo, who recently came out with his movie "Bromance: My Brother's Romance." In "Annaliza," he will play Brillantes' foster father who would take care of Annaliza when she was taken away from her parents--restaurateurs Lazaro (Patrick Garcia) and Isabel (Denise Laurel).

"Annaliza" will also mark the return of Garcia and Carlo Aquino, who were both award-winning actors during the 1990s. Both of them were also stars of the hit television program "Ang TV."

Kaye Abad, who will play the role of the mean and vicious Stella, will take Annaliza from Lazaro and Isabel as a way to get back at her ex-lover. Aquino will play Makoy, Stella's suitor.

Later on, Makoy will leave Annaliza to Guido (Marudo), who will then take care of the child as his own. However, he will soon marry Stella and leave Annaliza to her care while he goes to Saudi to provide a better life for his family.

Once he's away, Stella will treat Annaliza badly. She will then be forced to live mostly on the streets where she will meet her real parents. The story will then revolve on how Annaliza and her real parents will discover the truth.

Other stars in the teleserye are Khalil Ramos, Sue Ramirez, Kiko Estrada, Shy Carlos, Kyline Alcantara, Jillian Aguila and Reign Tolentino.

It will be directed by Theodore Boborol and Cathy Camarillo.

"Annaliza" will start airing on May 27 (Monday) before "TV Patrol."
