"The Voice Of The Philippines" Begins On June 15 (Saturday)
The primer, entitled "Mic Test," will introduce the format of the show--the blind auditions, the battle round and the live shows.
Similar with "The Voice" in the United States and the United Kingdom, the blind auditions will be the most exciting part of the competition. Here, the judges are turned from the stage. They will turn around if they want the contestant for their team.
This way, the only criteria the judges would have is the voice they hear when their backs are still turned away from the stage.
If two or more judges turn around, they would have to persuade the contestant to choose them for a mentor.
The judges, of course, have already been announced. Popstar Sarah Geronimo, Black Eyed Peas' Apl de Ap, Bamboo and Tony Award-winning Lea Salonga will choose the first winner of "The Voice of the Philippines."
After the teams are formed, their mentors will let them compete with each other in a "sing-off" round. This will determine the person who will advance to the "Live Shows."
The "Live Shows" is the final phase of the reality singing contest.
"The Voice of the Philippines" will air after "Maalaala Mo Kaya."
