Michael Jackson Daughter Attempts To Kill HerselfThe daughter of late pop star Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday after an apparent suicide attempt, her mother has revealed.
Nonetheless, members of the Jackson family have come out to say that the 15-year-old Paris Jackson is now “physically fine”.
In a statement, Katherine Jackson, the young Jackson’s grandmother and guardian, said through attorney Perry Sanders that “Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention.”
“Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you,” Katherine added.
Her mother, Debbie Rowe, has spoken about the apparent suicide. In a report from Entertainment Tonight, Rowe said in a statement through her attorney that “We appreciate everyone's thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family's privacy.”
Other news agencies like the Agence France-Presse (AFP) also reported on the attempted suicide via sources who wanted to remain anonymous.
In an AFP report, a sheriff’s spokesperson said that law enforcement officers responded to a home in Calabasas near Los Angeles after a report of a “medical condition”.
According to celebrity website TMZ, which broke the news of the attempted suicide, the teen tried to cut her wrist with a meat cleaver after writing a suicide note.
In the report, the unnamed TMZ source said the teen “tried to cut herself” and that she “really feels like she needs her father… she had been in treatment once before for depression, so this is kind of like a real cry for help.”
Nonetheless, the TMZ source added that “she’s in good condition, she’s not in critical condition.”
