"Glee" Star Cory Monteith Is DeadCory Monteith, who played the football heart throb Finn Hudson in the Fox music series "Glee," was found dead in a hotel in Vancouver, Canada.
He was 31 years old, and was battling substance abuse when he died. Monteith in March this year entered a drug rehab facility to address his struggles with substance abuse.
In a press conference by Vancouver police, they already ruled out foul play. However, they have yet to say if Monteith's problems with drugs had to do something with his death.
The actor checked in at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel on July 6 and was scheduled to check out on Saturday when hotel staff entered his room and found out he was dead. Monteith missed his check out time.
Camera records showed the actor went out on Friday night and returned during the early morning of Saturday. It was hours before his body was found.
The management of "Glee" has already sent their condolences and sympathies to the family of the actor, who was very vocal regarding his struggles with substance abuse. He said he had been using drugs since he was 13 years old and entered the rehab for the first time when he was 19 years old.
"Glee" executive producers said they are deeply saddened by Monteith's death. They described him as an "exceptional talent and an exceptional person."
"He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."
Monteith's girlfriend and "Glee" co-star, Lea Michele, has yet to release a statement regarding the actor's death. Celebrities have already tweeted their condolences to the actor's family.
The actor has been a part of "Glee" since 2009. He won the Teen Choice Award for top actor in a comedy in 2011. He was currently part of three movies already in post-production when he died. One of the movies is "All The Wrong Reasons" with Kevin Zegers.
