Sharon Stone Files A Countersuit Against Former Filipina NannyHollywood actress Sharon Stone has filed a countercharge against her former nanny, who is a Filipina. The 55-year old movie star has recently filed a breach-of-loan complaint before the Los Angeles Superior Court against Erlinda Elemen. According to Stone, her former nanny still owes her $9,500 for an unpaid balance in a $12,500 personal loan she received from her in 2010.
In the complaint, Stone claimed that Elemen repaid $3,000 from August 2010 to January 2011. After that, the ex-nanny allegedly stopped making repayments to the loan. Elemen was hired by Stone in October 2006 as a nanny. In 2008, she was promoted to become the head live-in nanny for Stone’s three children. In February 2011, Stone fired the nanny after she supposedly learned that Elemen got overtime payment when she traveled with her children and during holidays.
In May last year, Elemen sued Stone and accused her of harassment, failure to prevent harassment, retaliation, and inappropriate dismissal. A judge had declared that Elemen presented sufficient evidence to prove her accusations. Stone’s publicist immediately slammed the case and called it ‘absurd.’ Her lawyers have since sought dismissal of the legal action.
In Elemen’s lawsuit, she claimed that Stone repeatedly implied that being a Filipino is equivalent to being stupid. In one of her accounts, she recalled how her former boss prohibited her from speaking in front of her kids because Stone was worried that her children might learn to talk like the nanny. Elemen also claimed that Stone asked her to stop reading the Bible in their home.
This is not the first time that Stone had gotten into a legal dispute with her former employees. In 2011, a court ordered her to give a $232,000 compensation to a former aid, who accidentally injured his knee when he slipped and fell in the actress’ backyard way back in 2006.
