Sorry, No ‘Friends’ Reunion In The WorksThe hit television series “Friends” will not be having an upcoming reunion season, according to the show’s own co-creator and network where it aired.
There were rumors circulating around entertainment town recently that “Friends” may have a reunion special in the works. The rumor later evolved into the show getting a new season.
However, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe Joey, Chandler and Ross will not be appearing in a new season of “Friends” according to Marta Kauffman, the show’s co-creator.
“I'm going to clear this up right now. No! Not happening,” Kauffman explained to E! News on Tuesday when asked about the rumor.
“Friends' was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there's no need anymore,” she added ruling out a movie special which features the characters from the hit TV show.
“I'd rather people go 'Oh Please, Please!' Than 'Oh, I can't believe you did that. It was horrible,” she added.
Meanwhile, NBC, the network where “Friends” originally aired also debunked the rumor in a report from Entertainment Weekly.
According to the publication: “NBC has confirmed to EW that a Friends reunion is not in the works.”
The pilot episode for the worldwide-hit “Friends” series aired on NBC on September 22, 1994 while the final episode aired on May 6, 2004.
