'It Takes A Man And A Woman' Breaches P200-Million Mark In Just 8 DaysJohn Lloyd Cruz's and Sarah Geronimo's "It Takes A Man And A Woman" grossed P201-million eight days after it opened on Black Saturday (March 30).
The report was made by Star Cinema's PR executive Roxy Liquigan.
Now, it is only a matter of time before the film will be able to break the record set by "Sisterakas" in December 2012.
"Sisterakas" starred Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai Delas Alas and Vice Ganda. It was an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival last year.
As for "It Takes A Man And A Woman," the third and last installment to the Miggy Montenegro-Laida Magtalas love story may soon be the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.
It has surpassed the P179-million earned by the first installation to the trilogy, "A Very Special Love" back in 2008.
The second film, "You Changed My Life" in 2009 raked in a total of P225.2 million ticket sales.
This third offering may be the most successful of the entire franchise.
The film even topped local box office charts even if popular foreign films like "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" is also showing.
"It Takes A Man And A Woman" finds Magtalas coming home from New York to help Montenegro's company from being taken over by another businessman.
Since they have to work together, deep-seethed feelings of pain and anger came out and pushed them to admit that they still love each other.
Cruz, during the ASAP 18 on Sunday, thanked the public for supporting him and Geronimo.
“Thank you very much. Maraming, maraming salamat po talaga. Thank you ‘ASAP’ for giving me the chance na makapagpasalamat sa lahat ng mga nakapanood na. Sa lahat ng mga hindi pa nakakapanood, please po huwag niyo palampasin."
