"My Little Bossings" Tops MMFF's Opening Day Box-Office Result

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that "My Little Bossings" is the leading movie out of all the entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival this year.

"My Little Bossings" stars Ryzza Mae Dizon of "Eat Bulaga" and Bimby Aquino-Yap. Reports said the comedy movie that also stars Vic Sotto and Kris Aquino raked more than P26 million as of 4PM on Christmas Day.

Other movies that also came on top were Vice Ganda's "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy," Kathryn Bernardo's and Daniel Padilla's "Pagpag, Siyam Na Buhay" and Eugene Domingo's and Sam Milby's "Kimmy Dora (Ang Kiyemeng Prequel).

"My Little Bossings" tells the story of a spoiled little rich kid (Bimby) who had to live with his driver (Vic) and his family (Aiza Seguerra and Ryzza Mae) because his mother (Kris) was very busy with work. At first, the characters of Bimby and Ryzza Mae didn't get along well until an adventure forced them to create a bond stronger than friendship.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda plays the role of quadruplets in his MMFF entry. He starred alongside Maricel Soriano and Joey Marquez.

"Pagpag" is the only horror film entry this year. It is also the first time Kathryn and Daniel starred in a horror/suspense movie.

"Kimmy Dora (Ang Kiyemeng Prequel)" is the third installation of the "Kimmy Dora" series that starred Eugene and Dingdong Dantes for the first two movies. This film now features the misadventures of the twins Kimmy and Dora (both played by Eugene).

Other movies in the film fest are the action-drama "10,000 Hours" starring Robin Padilla, "Boy Golden: Shoot-To-Kill" starring ER Ejercito and KC Concepcion, "Kaleidoscope World" starring Yassi Pressman and Sef Cadayona and "Pedro Calungsod: Ang Batang Martir" starring Rocco Nacino.

Kris confirmed on her Instagram account that "My Little Bossings" has the highest opening day gross for a Filipino movie." She thanked the public for supporting her son Bimby's first foray into acting.

She also thanked Ryzza Mae for agreeing to play Bimby's leading lady in the former's first film.

"Thank you for the support & love you gave Bimby & @ryzzamaechacha... Bimby & Ryzza now hold the box office record for highest opening day gross for a Filipino movie... Thank You for the best Christmas gift! Thank you for loving our kids! #mylittlebossings Good Night."

After watching the film, Kris went to the graves of her parents--former President Cory Aquino and former Senator Ninoy Aquino--at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque City to share in the gratitude she felt for the success of the film. The actress said it's already a tradition for her, Bimby and eldest son Josh to visit the graves after watching her MMFF entry.

Kris and Vic were the producers of the said film.

On Christmas Day, President Noynoy Aquino also took the time out of his busy schedule to watch his nephew's first acting movie. He was with Josh when he watched the film in a cinema in Trinoma.

Ryzza Mae also attended the said screening. She was even seen being carried by the president. Kris said Bimby convinced his "Tito Noy" to watch his movie.

MMFF movies will run from December 25 to January 7 next year.
