'Bride For Rent' Earns A Staggering P100Mn In Just 4 Days“Bride For Rent” may be well on its way to clinching a box office record after it earned a whopping P100 million just four days after its release.
Star Cinema exec Roxy Liquigan revealed on Saturday night that the film has broken the P100-million mark, a feat that the executive said was even more noteworthy because the film was released mid-January: traditionally not the best time to release a new film.
To put this into context, the last film Xian Lim and Kim Chiu starred in, “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?” hit the P100-million mark more than two weeks after its release.
Directed by Mae Czarina Cruz and written by Carmi Raymundo, “Bride For Rent” tells the story of Rocky (Chiu) who becomes Rocco’s (Lim) pretend-wife.
Rocky is trying to prevent the eviction of her family from their home and in her search for a new job, she takes part in an audition set up by Rocco. Rocco wants to find a woman to become her pretend-wife to fulfill a condition necessary for him to access his trust fund.
Also starring Pilita Corrales, Tirso Cruz III, Dennis Padilla, Matt Evans, Martin del Rosario, and Empoy, “Bride For Rent” had an opening day gross of P21.2 million last Wednesday.
