"Starting Over Again" Earns P25 Million On First Day"Starting Over Again" earned P25 million on its opening day, Star Cinema said. The film stars Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual.
Toni said she cried a lot during the opening day of the movie because of the overwhelming response of the audience.
The movie, she described, will evoke mixed emotions. The film can make one cry and really break down, Toni said.
In the movie, Toni plays the role of Ginny, a student who falls in love with her professor, Marco (Piolo). Ginny, however, suddenly leaves Marco even as he already fell in love with her.
When she came back, Marco is already with Patty (Iza Calzado).
During an interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," Toni said she was emotional during the premiere because she realized the movie is really over. They have been together for eight months and she was already used to seeing the cast and working with them every day.
The premiere, she said, marks the end of those memorable taping days. She won't be with their director, Olivia Lamasan, and Piolo anymore.
When "Starting Over Again" was sung during the premiere, Toni said that's the time she really cried because the song has a different effect on her.
Mico del Rosario, the ad prom manager of Star Cinema, confirmed that "Starting Over Again" earned P25 million on its first day. He then thanked the public for their support.
Toni and Piolo will also be in the United States for the premiere of the movie on February 15. It will be at the Fox Theater, Redwood City in California.
