“She’s Dating The Gangster” Earns P114.77 Million In 5 Days

Teen royalties Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo once again proved their star power as their movie, “She’s Dating The Gangster,” earned P114.77 million in just five days. This was confirmed by the third party tabulator Box Office Mojo.

On its opening day on July 16 during the onslaught of Typhoon Glenda, the movie already earned P15 million. On its fourth day of screening, it was predicted that “She’s Dating The Gangster” will breach the P100-million mark, making it a surefire box-office hit.

Its earnings during the period from July 16 to July 20 are enough to topple the Hollywood movie, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” It also became the highest-grossing local film for this period. It also became the second Pinoy movie this year to capture the first place in the box office chart after Piolo Pascual’s and Toni Gonzaga’s “Starting Over Again.”

Here are the top 10 movies in the Philippines from July 16 to 20: “She’s Dating The Gangster” (P114,775,315), “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (P31,838,602), “Step Up All In” (P23,641,742), “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (P10,180,948), “Begin Again” (P2,495,114), “Deliver Us From Evil” (P1,744,730), “Tee 3” (P1,640,770), “Jersey Boys” (P802,451), “How To Train Your Dragon 2” (P445,280) and “22 Jump Street” (P¬51,719).

The highest-grossing films in the country so far this year are: “Starting Over Again” (P410 million), “Bride For Rent” (P326.95 million), “Da Possessed” (P122.6 million), “Diary Ng Panget” (P119.5 million), “She’s Dating The Gangster” (P114.77 million), “Maybe This Time” (P71.9 million), “ABNKKBSNPla Ako?!” (P8.6 million), “Mumbai Love” (P488,340), “Overtime” (P997,452), “Sa Ngalang Ng Ama, Ina at mga Anak” (undisclosed), and “Basement” (undisclosed).

As for the Hollywood films, there are the top-grossing movies in the Philippines this year: “Amazing Spider-Man 2” (P446.2 million), “Transformers: Age of Extinction” (P428.5 million), “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (P313.4 million), “X-Men: Days of Future Past” (P273.5 million), “Maleficent” (P179.8 million), “Godzilla” (P154.2 million), “300: Rise of an Empire” (P148.4 million), “How To Train Your Dragon” (P142.6 million), “Rio 2” (P112.4 million), and “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (P98.3 million).
