"Praybeyt Benjamin 2" Grosses P172M, "Feng Shui 2" Earns P88MVice Ganda's "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2" already earned P172 million as of Sunday, December 28, while "Feng Shui 2," which is topbilled by Kris Aquino and Coco Martin, earned P88 million.
Toni Gonzaga, one of the hosts of "The Buzz," also revealed during the show that the eight entries to the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) grossed over P180 million during its opening day on December 25.
"The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2" and "Feng Shui 2" are both produced by Star Cinema. Kris is a co-producer of "Feng Shui 2." The combined total gross of the two films in four days is P260 million.
"Feng Shui 2" is a sequel of the 2004 blockbuster hit. It features Coco as the new owner of the deadly bagua. On the other hand, "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" is also a sequel, and now stars Richard Yap, Alex Gonzaga, Tom Rodriguez and Bimby Aquino-Yap.
Meanwhile, Kris expressed gratitude for thse who supported her film, "Feng Shui 2," and "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2" because it stars her son, Bimby.
She even made special mention of James Yap, her ex-husband, who attended the block screening of "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2" for their son. James was supposed to fly to Negros Occidential on that day, but he moved his flight to support Bimby.
Kris also thanked Michela Cazzola, James' girlfriend for taking the time to watch Bimby's show. Kris specifically asked for Mic to be there because Bimby "likes" her. The controversial actress-TV host said she appreciated that Mic went in a territory that she's unfamiliar with.
She feels content that she and James are now in good terms for their son. Now that she feels James is very supportive of Bimby, she's contented already. She's able to move on from their past issues.
President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino also attended the block screening of the film in support of his nephew.
