"The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" Grosses P300 MillionVice Ganda's "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2" has surpassed the P300-million mark already, and is the top one highest grossing entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2014.
This was based on Vice's tweet last January 2. On December 28, the movie was the first among the eight entries to pass the P100-million mark.
Dominic Du of the MMFF executive committee said the festival already earned more than P701 million as of January 1. He added that "English Only, Please," which starred Best Actor Derek Ramsay and Best Actress Jennylyn Mercado, has entered the top four MMFF entries.
It nudged down "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles" to top five.
Here are the rankings of the eight MMFF entries without the official box office results: "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2," "Feng Shui 2," "My Big Bossing," "English Only, Please," "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles," "Shake, Rattle and Roll XV," "Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo" and "Muslim Magnum .357."
"The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2" and "Feng Shui 2" did not get any awards during the MMFF awards night. Vice Ganda and Kris Aquino weren't even nominated for the Best Actor and Best Actress categories.
Both films did not get a single award. Those who got the majority of the awards are "English Only, Please," "Bonifacio" (Best Picture) and "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles" (Best Supporting Actor for Joey Marquez, Best Supporting Actress for Lotlot de Leon, Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects).
