"That Thing Called Tadhana" Earns P100 MillionAngelica Panganiban's and JM de Guzman's "That Thing Called Tadhana" already earned P100 million in less than two weeks. The romantic comedy was featured as part of the 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival.
Later on, it was distributed by Star Cinema, the film-producing arm of ABS-CBN, Angelica's and JM's home studio. The movie has been graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, and started its regular screening on February 4.
The movie is about the heartbroken Mace Castillo (Angelica) who met Anthony Lagdameo (JM) in an airport in Italy on her way back to the Philippines. Forming a bond, the two decided to travel to Baguio to help Mace "find herself."
The film was a hit among netizens because of the popular "hugot" lines.
Angelica was thankful for the strong support for their movie. She said she was already speechless for the box office record success of the film. It was a wonderful adventure, she said, adding that it will help those who want to move on from heartbreaks.
"That Thing Called Tadhana" was written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone. It won the Audience Choice Award and the Best Actress for Angelica during the 2014 Cinema One Originals Film Festival.
