‘Iron Man 3’ Breaks Philippine Box Office Records, Hits P500Mn After Only Two Weeks“Iron Man 3” has broken a trove of Philippine box office records after it earned half a billion pesos only two weeks after its release.
According to Box Office Mojo, the third film in the latest Iron Man movie franchise has broken the P500-million mark after just two weeks of being shown in the country.
More specifically, “Iron Man 3” earned P503,477,272 in all cinemas in the Philippines during its still relatively short run in the country.
During the May 1 to 5 period, the film earned a whopping P140,177,812.
It also helped that the film has been shown in most cinemas in the country. According to the data, the film which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow has been shown in 303 movie theaters in the country.
By comparison, the Ma 1 to 5 second highest earning film, “One Piece Film Z” earned a relatively measly P5,184,270 from 42 movie theaters.
Furthermore, it appears that “Iron Man 3” is set to break the record of “The Avengers” in the country.
“The Avengers,” which also featured Iron Man, is the highest grossing movie in the Philippines after earning an estimated P590 million during its release in the country in 2012.
“Iron Man 3” currently hold the title of the highest grossing film during its opening day after earning P62.6 million on the day of its release.
It also took the highest Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday gross titles from “The Avengers” after raking in P48 million, P48.41 million, P71.94 million, and P74.63 million respectively.
