Jed Madela Aims To Launch International Album After WCOPA Hall Of Fame InductionJed Madela has revealed that he aims to release an international album in the months after his induction to the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) Hall of fame.
“[Gusto ko] iri-release siya all over the world or major countries. Pinaka dream ko din siguro is being onstage in theater production, probably Broadway, but then as long as may opportunity na dadating, tingnan natin,” Madela is quoted as saying by the ABS-CBN News.
The revelation comes from the Filipino actor in an interview conducted by ABS-CBN News before Madela left for Los Angeles, California where the entertainer is currently waiting for the induction ceremonies.
The inclusion of Madela to the WCOPA Hall of Fame comes after eight years of the singer’s winning as Grand Champion of the contest. Madela became the first Filipino to win the event in 2005. Beating 3,000 other contestants from other countries that year can be argued as one of the starting points that launched Madela’s successful career.
Madela will be joining the likes of Dionne Warwick and Cirque du Soleil President and CEO Daniel Marmarre who are in the WCOPA Hall of Fame when he will be inducted in a ceremony that happens this July 19.
According to ABS-CBN News, Madela is the first contestant of the WCOPA to also receive an Achievement Award.
“First major award talaga. Kumbaga isang malaking recognition na matatanggap ko sa buong buhay ko. Hindi lang local kundi international. Forever na 'to eh, nakaukit na pangalan ko sa world championships,” Madela said.
The singer, who is a talent of the Kapamilya Network at the moment, expressed how happy he is to once again bring honor to the country.
“Kasi unang-una palang nung 2005 nung sumali ako do'n, kumbaga literal na ini-itsapwera tayo do'n. Hindi nila kilala yung Pilipinas. It was the first time na sumali 'yung Pinoy,” he said.
“I want everybody in the world to know that Filipinos are one great bunch of talented people -- mapa-kanta, sayaw, acting, lahat-lahat siguro. Hindi sa nagmamayabang ako, but I think Filipinos are an all-around race. Name it, kayang gawin ng Pinoy,” he added.
Meanwhile, Madela also revealed that for the competition this year which happens on July 21, 35 Filipinos will be competing.
“Buong Team Philippines, 35 ata 'yung delegates natin. Sobrang excited ako. Personally I saw auditions. Sobra akong excited kasi im sure 'di tayo mawawalan ng pwesto dun,” Madela said.
