Enrique Gil Launches Album Titled "King Of The GIL"ABS-CBN primetime actor Enrique Gil released his highly anticipated album under Star Records. Today's "next ultimate leading man" and "Dougie king" will entertain his fans with hiphop and upbeat tunes through his debut album.
His album, "King of the GIL," was a result of his tireless passion to try something new, the actor-dancer-singer said. After dancing and acting, a lot of people asked him to try out singing. And when Star Records offered him a chance to make his own album, he immediately went for it.
"The moment I heard the songs that I recorded, I felt that it was a dream that unexpectedly came true."
Gil, who currently stars in ABS-CBN's "Muling Buksan Ang Puso," said he was hands-on in the picking of the songs for his album. He collaborated with Fil Music's hit hiphop album producer Thyro and hiphop artist Paw Chavez. The actor-singer said the songs on his album are true testaments to the kind of person he is.
"I wanted to create my own flavor and share my side of music that I haven’t heard yet from current recording artists. The album is more of house, hiphop, upbeat."
Like Gil, the songs featured in the album will keep people dancing and upbeat. He wants listeners to have the urge to dance when listening to any of the track in the album.
His album, Gil said, can be enjoyed by all generations. There is a song, "Ikaw Lamang," that fits teleserye theme songs, while "Katawan-Legs" medley is for the laid-back people. "Miss Miss," on the other hand, is dedicated for the hot chicks while "So Fly" and "Rockin' Them Jeans" are Gil's gifts to those who are hiphop music lovers.
His musical influences, the actor-singer said, are Chris Brown and Billy Crawford.
Meanwhile, Gil said it doesn't bother him anymore every time people compare him with Daniel Padilla, his co-star in the phenomemal "Princess and I." They have been compared ever since they starred in that teleserye.
The "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" star is making his own name outside of "Princess and I." Many netizens have noticed how he changed from that old teleserye he shared with Padilla. Gil said he and Padilla are both unique artists since his rival's music leans toward rock-alternative while his own is geared to upbeat and dance tracks.
The singer-actor dreams of working with Bamboo, Yeng Constantino, Ron Henley and Abra.
"King of the GIL" have seven tracks that include the carrier single "Oha (Kaya Mo Ba 'To?)," "Miss Miss," "Ikaw Lamang," So Fly," "Katawan-Legs medley," Tayo'y Magsayawan-Rock Baby Rock medley" and "Rockin' Them Jeans" with Tippy Dos Santos.
"King of the GIL" is now available in record stores nationwide for P199. The songs in the album can also be downloaded from iTunes, Amazon and MyMusicStore.com.ph.
