Release Of Recording Album Is Dream Come True For Richard Yap

Richard Yap, the lead actor of "Be Careful With My Heart," said it's a dream come true for him to release his first recording album under Star Records. The phenomenal singer-actor-endorser is better known as "Ser Chief" in the popular morning series.

Since he was a kid, Richard has always wanted to become a singer. He said he is thankful to "Be Careful With My Heart" for opening the doors for his first singing album. It is through the series' official soundtrack that the public began to appreciate Richard's voice.

Just like his series with Jodi Sta. Maria, who plays Maya, his album will have a "feel-good" vibe to it. He likes songs that have an easy listening tone to it, so that's what the public can expect in his album's nine revivals. These songs were all chosen by Richard himself.

He sang his carrier single, "Don't Know What To Do, Don't Know What To Say," during "ASAP 18's" Sunday noontime show. But even though these are all feel-good songs, Richard argued it also covers all genres--from pop to ballad to alternative. It can appeal to music fans, may they be from the older or younger generations.

"This is very special for me because I put a lot of hard work in it so that we could come up with something that’s really worth paying for. I’m hoping that all of my supporters will love it too."

He shared that he grew up listening to the music of the likes of Queen, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Hall and Oates, Phil Collins and Mike Francis. Even though he is just starting in his music career, Richard doesn't feel any pressure with being compared to other more experienced singers in the country.

Since they have different musical choices and target audiences, the "Be Careful Of My Heart" star doesn't see the need to compare him with other people.

The songs in his solo debut album are: "Promise Ain't Enough," "Think I'm In Love Again," "Can Find No Reason," "You Take My Breath Away," "Chasing Cars," "High," "Afterglow," the Chinese version of "Babe," "Please Be Careful With My Heart" and "Salamat."

The album is available in all record stores nationwide for P250. Tracks can also be downloaded from, and iTunes.
