Miss Philippines Wins Miss Tourism International 2013

Angeli Dione Gomez was named Miss Tourism International 2013/14. It was a back-to-back win by the Philippines as last year's Miss Tourism International was Miss Philippines Rizzine Alexis Gomez.

In fact, Rizzini was the one who gave the crown to Angeli. The ceremony for the pageant was held New Year's Eve at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, IOI Resort City in Sepang Utara in Malaysia.

Angeli bested 59 other candidates and finally topped off a great year for the Philippines when it comes to beauty pageants. In 2013, Megan Young won Miss World, Ara Arida was a runner-up in Miss Universe, Mutya Datul was crowned Miss Supranational and Bea Rose Santiago is Miss International 2013.

Angeli is the third Filipina to be crowned Miss Tourism International. Aside from Angeli and Rizzini, Maria Esperanza Manzano also won the crown in the year 2000.

Miss Tourism International 2013/14 is from Cebu and won as Mutya ng Pilipinas alongside Koreen Media.

The pageant is Malaysia-based and aims to promote tourism and cultural exchange. In its 17-year history, the Philippines has the most number of wins.

The winners are: Miss Thailand Sunidporn Srisuwan as 1st runner-up, Miss Australia Sarah Czarmuch as 2nd runner-up, Miss Dominican Republic Michelle Alexis Torres as 3rd runner-up and Miss Malaysia Thaarah Ganesan as 4th runner-up.
