Instead, it was Miss Puerto Rico Valerie Hernandez who was crowned as Miss International. Bea Rose Santiago, the winner last year, relinquished the crown to Miss Puerto Rico.
The other winners are first runner-up Miss Colombia Zuleika Suarez, second runner-up Miss Thailand Punika Kulsoontornrut, third runner-up Miss United Kingdom Victoria Tooby, and fourth runner-up Miss Finland Milla Romppanen.
Bianca was not included in the top 10. This was the first time the Philippines was not included in the top 10 for Miss International since 2008.
Actress-turned-beauty-queen Pia Wurtzbach made known her dismay on Instagram for Bianca's non-inclusion in the top 10. According to her, she personally saw how Bianca stood out in the pageant.
Pia was in Tokyo to watch the pageant. She said she was "literally trembling" when Bianca wasn't called because she saw with her own eyes how stunning she looked, and how she stood out from the rest of the contestants.
Despite not being included in the top 10, Bianca received support from netizens.
Binibinang Pilipinas Charities, Inc. posted their message to Bianca on Facebook. They commended her for her performance in the Miss International 2014 pageant.
BPCI congratulated Bianca for participating in the pageant's global discussions on peace, cultural exchange and other charity initiatives. They said Bianca stood out, showcasing the Filipina's beauty, intellect and compassion.
