"The Voice Of The Philippines" Hits A Snag; Registers Lowest Rating

The country's number one singing reality show "The Voice of the Philippines" registered its lowest rating of 23.6% on August 10 (Saturday) when it was pitted against the coverage of the historic battle between Gilas Pilipinas and South Korea.

The Gilas Pilipinas versus South Korea game garnered 14.5%, the highest it got since the start of the FIBA Asia tournament. However, some also speculated that "The Voice of the Philippines" was losing its audience because of the lackluster performances of the contestants and the surprising choices being made by coach-mentor Bamboo Manalac.

On the other hand, the "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode of Meg Imperial and Bryan Santos got 33% as opposed to Charice Pempengco's life story that was featured in "Magpakailanman," which got 17.3%. To date, "Maalaala Mo Kaya" is still the top-rating drama anthology in the country.

Here are the top 10 daytime and primetime programs on August 10 (Saturday):

For daytime: "Eat Bulaga" (16.7%), "It’s Showtime" (14.5%), "Angry Birds Toons" (12.7%), "Pororo" (12.6%), "Jollitown" (11.4%), "Be Careful With My Heart Rewind" (10.7%), "SOCO" (10.3%), "Super Book" (10.2%), "Wish Ko Lang" (10.1%) and "Maynila" (9.6%).

For primetime: "Maalaala Mo Kaya" (33.0%), "Wansapanataym" (28.5%), "The Voice of the Philippines" (23.6%), "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal" (19.5%), "Vampire Ang Daddy Ko" (18.2%), "Magpakailanman" (17.3%), "One Day, Isang Araw" (15.5%), "27th FIBA Asia Championship" (14.5%), "TV Patrol Weekend" (13.0%) and "Celebrity Bluff" (11.2%).
