| A classic
comedy clash between a tomboyish tricycle driver

Gorio (Maricel Soriano) is a tricycle driver in
Manila who learns upon her father’s death that
she has a half-brother named Tekla (Roderick
Paulate), who is an effeminate native living in
a mountain forest. When Tekla and his mom come
to Manila to attend the wake, an all-out culture
clash ensues when he meets his half-sister Gorio!
Not only do Gorio & Tekla vie for the affections
of the same handsome, wealthy bachelor (Gabby
Concepcion), they must also try to co-exist
peacefully on the same patch of land!
Gorio & Tekla is another laugh-out-loud comedy
written by Joey Reyes and directed by the late
great Luciano “Chaning� Carlos. Not only
does the movie feature hilarious performances
from the leads, it also has many nostalgically
charming moments, including song numbers that
come out of nowhere, sumptuous dream sequences,
and even a hilarious detour to a haunted house!
Gorio & Tekla also stars Nova Villa, Rudy Meyer,
Tony Carreon, and Cynthia Patag.
