Jessica Soho Retires As GMA Executive

Award-winning journalist Jessica Soho announced that she will be retiring as vice president for News Program of GMA Network.

In an announcement released by GMA Network, Jessica said that she is proud of the fact that under her watch, the credibility of GMA news became even stronger.

"Filipinos watch us because they know we can be trusted to deliver accurate, objective, and balanced reporting because we have no political agenda or biases and we have consistently proven that through administrations, past and present."

"We mean it when we say, walang kinikilingan. Walang pino-protektahan. Serbisyong Totoo lamang."

Jessica has been part of the Kapuso network for 30 years. She was first a news reporter in 1998, then as a production news manager in 2000, acting news director in 2002, vice president for news in 2004, vice president for news programs in 2008 and first vice president for news programs in 2013.

But although Jessica won't be a part of the executive arm of the network, she will remain a Kapuso through hosting programs such as "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," "Brigada" and "State of the Nation."

"I am a Kapuso through the core of my being. I have worked with only one (1) network throughout my entire career because I truly believe in the network’s independence and professionalism."

In the end, Jessica thanked the network for doing what it did for her and her family. She thanked her mentors, her bosses, cameramen, the old newsroom and her colleagues such as her fellow reporters, producers, talents and crews for giving her the opportunity to lead them.

"It has been a great honor and privilege working with the best in the industry. Although I am retired from my position, I will always be a proud member of GMA News and Public Affairs."
