Ogie Alcasid To Reveal In Two Week’s Time Whether He’s Leaving GMA7Another big name in the Kapuso Network talent stable is in limbo as Ogie Alcasid has revealed that he will reveal in two week’s time whether he will be leaving GMA7 or not.
“Well, my contract ended June 30, so right now, I am jobless,” Alcasid told the Philippine Entertainment Portal in an interview at the sidelines of the 25th Bench anniversary event.
“I mean, I’m relaxing lang, nagre-relax lang ako ngayon. I’m preparing for my concert on August 16, sa SM MOA Arena. It's called I Write The Songs—25 songs, 25 artists, 25 hits,” the singer, songwriter and actor told the entertainment industry website.
Furthermore, Alcasid confirmed that he will not be part of Sunday All Stars starting this Sunday.
“Hindi rin ako nagti-taping,” Alcasid told PEP.
Asked why he has stopped taping for Sunday All Stars, Alcasid referred to his now-ended contract with GMA7.
“Kasi, contractually, wala ka pang contract. Paano ka magta-trabaho?” he said.
He also revealed that he plans to rest until his August concert or until his manager Leo Dominguez decides to issue a statement.
However, Alcasid did confirm that his camp is talking to TV5. In fact, PEP reports that these are “ongoing negotiations”.
This is when Alcasid gave a timeframe when he will reveal whether or not he will remain a Kapuso or will become a Kapatid.
“I will let you know in about two weeks. Magkakaroon na siguro kami ng linaw kung ano ang mangyayari,” Alcasid said.
Asked what the Kapuso network did wrong to merit a possible transfer, Alcasid said that GMA7 did nothing wrong.
“Wala, walang kulang. GMA has been an amazing network to me and my family,” he said.
When asked when the TV5 offer came to him, he said that the offer from the Kapatid Network came right after his contract ended with GMA7. “'Eto lang, when it ended. Kasi, ganoon naman yun, you let your contract end. Siyempre, GMA muna ang kakausapin mo kasi, you’re obligated to deal with GMA first,” He said.
Meanwhile, Alcasid also tackled what would influence his decision whether to transfer networks.
“Ganito lang 'yan... in every decision I make, kahit kung saan ako kakain o kung ano ang kakainin ko, I always pray. So, this has to be a decision that I seek God’s will,” he said.
He added that because he cannot ask for more in his life, he will go where he can help.
“Number one, I’d like to be of help. So, wherever I go, it has to be a place where I'm really needed. Because, I’m already okay. My career is okay. My family life is good. Wala na akong mahihiling, e. It’s time for me to really give back. Kung sino yung mas kailangan yun, ibibigay ko,” Alcasid said.
He added that if ever he will transfer networks, it will not mean that his wife Regine Velasquez will also transfer networks.
