BINI has made history by becoming the first Filipino group to win the Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs). Held on November 10 in Manchester, this event celebrated outstanding talent from around the world. BINI’s win is a major milestone for the Filipino music industry, showcasing its growth on an international level.

BINI Competes with Top Asian Artists

BINI competed against top Asian artists, including South Korea’s Illit, Japan’s Sakurazaka46, Indonesia’s Mahalini, and Malaysia’s Masdo. The announcement on MTV EMA’s social media thrilled fans around the world. After the win, BINI’s leader Jhoanna expressed deep gratitude for the support. Fellow member Mikha shared hopes that this recognition will inspire more support for Filipino music worldwide. On social media, BINI posted, “This honor means the world to us, seeing Filipino music shine on the global stage. Maraming salamat po.”

BINI’s fans, affectionately called “Blooms,” played an essential role in this victory. The group expressed heartfelt thanks to fans for their unwavering support, saying, “You inspire us to keep uplifting Filipino talent.” BINI dedicated this win to everyone who voted and believed in their potential, helping to bring Filipino music into the global spotlight.

A Proud Legacy of Filipino Recognition

With this award, BINI joins the ranks of previous Filipino nominees and winners who have represented the Philippines at the MTV EMAs. Notable names include Moira Dela Torre, Maymay Entrata, and Sarah Geronimo. Geronimo, along with Filipino-British artist James Reid, previously won Best Southeast Asian Act in 2014 and 2017, respectively. BINI’s win, however, extends beyond Southeast Asia, acknowledging them as the top act across all of Asia.

Since debuting in 2021 with their single “Born to Win,” BINI has quickly risen in the P-pop scene. Their 2024 hit song, “Pantropiko,” gained immense popularity, further expanding their fanbase locally and internationally. This year, BINI has signed numerous brand deals, performed in sold-out concerts, and made appearances at major events, highlighting their significant growth and influence in the industry.

Upcoming “Grand BINIverse” Concert Series

BINI’s achievement comes as they prepare for their upcoming “Grand BINIverse” concert series at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, from November 16 to 18. This series will feature notable guests, including Maymay Entrata, Vice Ganda, Regine Velasquez, and Gary Valenciano, along with Drag Race Philippines alumni and dance group TPM. Fans can expect an unforgettable celebration of BINI’s journey, featuring the music that has made them a household name.
