Department of Health saw the significant result of the Enhanced Community Quarantine. It is noticeable that the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases slow down.
Halos 5 araw na ang average,” according to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
This change is very helpful. It seems that ECQ is really working. It takes obedience to achieve the goal of the Philippines in eliminating the virus.
Another good news from the DOH is, many confirmed cases are in National Capital Region (NCR). It means that the virus is not spreading that much.
University of the Philippines’ Study
University of the Philippines conducted as study. The lockdown along with other safety measures like social distancing may have reduced the number of cases by 83 percent.
“It now takes a little longer for the number of confirmed cases to double in number. What took three days for the total number of cases to double now takes about six days,” the study says.
“We have flattened the curve but what we want is to crush the curve to ensure that we have really controlled the spread of the virus,” said Eduardo Ano, interior secretary and vice-chairperson of the National Task Force for COVID19.
department of health’s warning
However, DOH gives warning that this good news will never be permanent when people will not cooperate. As the government and health workers do their part, Filipino citizens should do also. Staying at home during Enhanced Community Quarantine is the best thing we can do to make the recovery from pandemic become fast.
