Careless Music founder James Reid has addressed speculation surrounding Liza Soberano’s exit from the talent agency. In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News, Reid confirmed that it was Soberano’s own decision to leave, emphasizing that the company did not force her out.

“There’s been a lot of rumors that she’s no longer Careless. So we decided to release the statement just to confirm it so there’s no confusion,” Reid explained. “It’s her decision to leave Careless.”

Reid revealed that the decision stemmed from differing career paths. While Careless Music primarily focuses on local projects in the Philippines, Soberano has expressed a strong desire to pursue a Hollywood career. “She’s more focused on her US career, going to Hollywood,” Reid said. “And we’re more focused on the Philippines. Music, local.”

Despite their diverging paths, Reid maintained a positive relationship with Soberano. He emphasized that the actress was always involved in managing her own career, even while under Careless Music. “She has a very clear idea of where she wants to go with her career and everything. And towards the end, basically, she manages herself,” Reid said.

Reid also acknowledged Soberano’s role in securing her first Hollywood film, “Lisa Frankenstein.” While he introduced the director, he credited Soberano for taking the lead in the rest of the process.

“I introduced the director, but everything after that was really her,” Reid said. “She’s been very proactive with her career ever since she joined Careless.”

With Soberano now based in the United States, Reid believes that it was natural for Careless Music to step aside from her management. “Now that she’s in the US, it makes sense that Careless is no longer in the picture, which I’m okay with,” he said.

Reid’s statement aims to put an end to the rumors surrounding Soberano’s departure and provide clarity on the situation. As Soberano continues to pursue her Hollywood dreams, Reid remains supportive of her career aspirations.
