Multimedia superstar Kim Chiu turned heads as she graced the red carpet of the 2024 Seoul International Drama Awards in a stunning pink creation by renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran. Representing the Philippines, Chiu was awarded the Outstanding Asian Star Award for her exceptional performance in the ABS-CBN drama series “Linlang.”

A Fusion of Filipino and Korean Elegance

Dazzling in a gown that effortlessly combined Filipino and Korean sensibilities, Chiu’s look truly showcased her global appeal. The bold sleeve, a signature Libiran touch, offered a modern twist on the traditional Filipiniana. Meanwhile, the layers of chiffon beautifully captured the delicate femininity of Korean style.

“Kim’s look is ethereal and a showcase of Filipina modernity,” said stylist Adrianne Concepcion, who curated the actress’s ensemble. “She’s a global Filipina on the Korean stage, and this outfit perfectly captures her essence.”

Overwhelmed by the recognition, Chiu expressed her gratitude in an emotional acceptance speech. “I’m in absolute disbelief and beyond grateful to attend this kind of international award-giving body,” she shared on Instagram. “This moment is something I will cherish forever.”

The actress also acknowledged the key figures who supported her throughout her nearly two-decade-long career, including ABS-CBN, Dreamscape Entertainment, the staff of “Linlang,” and her late mentor, Deo Endrinal. Chiu’s win at the Seoul Drama International Awards marks a significant milestone in her career. She joins a prestigious list of Filipino celebrities who have received the Outstanding Asian Star Award, including Gabby Concepcion, Dennis Trillo, Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, and Belle Mariano.

Prior to this achievement, Chiu also bagged the Best Female Lead in a TV Program/Series award at the Content Asia Awards in Taipei, Taiwan for her performance in “Linlang.” Her exceptional talent and versatility have solidified her position as one of the most sought-after actresses in the Philippines.
