South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo, known for his roles in K-dramas like “Strong Girl Bong Soon” and “Moonlight Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” is set to star in the upcoming Filipino film “Mujigae.”
The film, directed by Randolph Longjas, will also feature a star-studded cast including Rufa Mae Quinto, Alexa Ilacad, Lito Pimentel, and more.
“Mujigae” marks Kim Ji Soo’s second Filipino project, following his recent appearance in the GMA action drama “Black Rider.” In the film, he will portray Ji Sung, the biological father of the titular Fil-Korean character Mujigae.
During a recent story conference, Ji Soo expressed his excitement about joining the cast and shared his thoughts on the project. “I think it’s a unique movie,” he said. “These days, I have recently been watching family drama movies. I just want to try that kind of movie. A movie that can touch hearts. This movie is like that.”
Kim Ji Soo also praised his co-stars, particularly child star Ryrie Turingan, who plays Mujigae. “They’re really good,” he said. “I heard they’re good actors and actresses. I haven’t watched their scenes yet but I know, especially the main character, Mujigae, she’s the most important role in the movie, and I think she’s perfect. I’m very excited.”
The actor is currently preparing for his role by studying the script and watching films with similar themes. He is also looking forward to the challenge of portraying a father for the first time.
“Mujigae” is set to begin filming this month and is scheduled for release in October 2024.
