Guess who’s super excited about Pop Mart landing in Manila? It’s none other than Marian Rivera, the Philippines’ Primetime Queen.
Pop Mart, known for its adorable dolls and figurines like Labubu, Dimoo, and Skullpanda, has finally opened its first pop-up store in the country at SM Mall of Asia. Marian, a huge fan herself, couldn’t wait to check it out!
At the grand opening, Marian looked thrilled, even helping cut the ribbon! She shared in an interview how much she loves collecting these cute characters.
“It’s so much fun collecting them,” she said, showing off her adorable Labubu bag charms. Apparently, collecting runs in the family – her daughter Zia is also a Pop Mart fan! Marian revealed that unboxing Pop Mart toys is a special bonding moment for them.
This isn’t Marian’s first collecting rodeo. She used to collect Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty. But Pop Mart’s irresistible charm has rekindled her love for collecting!
“I used to collect before, but it was Sanrio characters, you know, like Hello Kitty. Now, I’m back at it again. I thought it would be fun to try something new and get back into my old hobby,” she shared.
The good news doesn’t stop there! Pop Mart’s Southeast Asia Director, Jeremy Lee, hinted at future collaborations with Filipino artists for their toy designs. Plus, they’re planning to open a full-fledged Pop Mart store in the Philippines next year!
So, mark your calendars, Pop Mart fans! The wait is almost over! In the meantime, you can visit their pop-up store at SM Mall of Asia starting November 2nd. Just remember to register online first to secure a slot.
