The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) marked its 50th year with a grand Parade of Stars that filled Manila’s streets with glitz, glamour, and cinematic flair. Starting at the Kartilya ng Katipunan, the motorcade stretched across 12 kilometers, ending at the Manila Central Post Office. Thousands of fans lined the route. They caught glimpses of their favorite celebrities and the dazzling floats representing this year’s official film entries. The parade was an exciting display of creativity and celebration, drawing even more spectators to the scene.
Each float reflected the essence of its respective movie, from floral elegance to eerie horror themes. Films such as Isang Himala, Espantaho, and My Future You brought their stories to life through creative designs that captivated onlookers. Actors like Vice Ganda, Judy Ann Santos, Vic Sotto, and Dennis Trillo waved to fans from their mobile platforms, adding star power to the spectacle.
Before the parade, the cast of the 10 official entries met with the press, setting the stage for the festive journey. The stars gathered for a group photo in front of the Kartilya ng Katipunan monument. It was a symbolic moment of unity before they climbed aboard their floats.
The extended route this year included busy streets such as Recto and Taft Avenues, ensuring wider access for fans. The motorcade was a celebration of cinema and community. Moreover, the festive atmosphere extending into the evening at a fan concert held at the Manila Central Post Office. Performances by artists like Bamboo and Jason Dy added a musical note to the cinematic celebration.
