Judy Ann Santos Angry, Has Harsh Words For Government And Dirty Politicians [Video]

Judy Ann Santos is angry at our country’s dirty politicians and this is not for a role on TV or the silver screen.

The acclaimed actress has harsh words for the government and the officials being implicated in the recent “Pork Barrel Scam”.

In an interview with Aksyon 5, Santos said of the latest controversy to hit the government, “Hindi siya nakakairita, nakaka-bwisit siya.” [It (the Pork Barrel Scam) is not irritating, it’s infuriating.]

“Kami, pinu-push niyo ng pinu-push magbayad (ng tax), kinakasuhan niyo pa kami kapagka may kaunting digits na hindi nabayaran, bakit hindi niyo kasuhan ‘yang mga pulitikong malaking-malaking digits ang kinuha sa pera namin?” [You always push us to pay taxes, you even sue us when we miss paying a small amount, why don’t you also sue politicians who get large amounts from the tax we paid?] she added.

As for her message for policians, she said, “‘Di ba dapat meron din kaming rundown ng mga nangyayari sa pera namin? Kasi hindi naman namin yan hinuhugot lang sa langit at sinasapo, e. Dugo, pawis (at) luha (ang kapalit niyan) para sa aming mga artista. We try to be responsible Filipino citizens so as politicians, please be responsible naman with your job.” [Shouldn’t we also have a rundown of what happens with our money? We don’t just get money from thin air. For us actors and actresses, we give our blood, sweat and tears for the money we earn.]

Judy Ann Santos was sued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue in the past for allegedly not paying the correct amount of tax for the 2002 taxable year. The case was later dismissed but Santos was asked to pay P3.4 million in deficiencies plus a 20 percent interest per year for the amount due.
