On June 24th, the Wattah Wattah Festival was in full swing – everyone was cutting loose, celebrating with water fights. But one video caught everyone’s attention and wasn’t exactly for the good vibes. The clip showed a guy, Lexter Castro, or “Boy Dila,” as everyone was calling him online, drenching a motorcycle rider with water while sticking his tongue out.
The internet went nuts. Lexter was getting slammed left and right. Over a week later, he finally faced the music. He appeared with the mayor on TV, looking super sorry. “Aminado naman ako mali ako sa ginawa ko. Ako po ay humihingi ng paumanhin sa mga naabala kong tao, lalo na po sa rider na nabasa ko,” Castro sincerely admitted. Despite the controversy, he emphasized, “Hindi naman po ako masamang tao. Mabait po ako.”
Things got even worse for Lexter after that. People were sending him nasty messages, even threatening him. Apparently, his address leaked online, and someone kept ordering food deliveries to his house that he never paid for. Lexter was overwhelmed, begging everyone to think about his family getting caught in the crossfire. “Na-iistress na rin po ako,” he confessed. All he wanted was for everyone to chill and move on.
Lexter or Boy Dila knows he messed up and wants to make things right. He hopes people can forgive him and forget the whole thing. Can the internet forgive a guy who made a bad call during a water fight? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Lexter definitely learned a hard lesson about the power of going viral.
