“Hello, Love, Again” has earned significant recognition at the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) 2025, winning the prestigious Box Office Hit Award. This award highlights the film’s massive success, grossing a remarkable P1.6 billion global sales.
The film is the sequel to the highly successful 2019 “Hello, Love, Goodbye”. It stars Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, who reprise their roles as Joy and Ethan. Set in Canada, the movie takes place five years after the characters parted ways in Hong Kong.
The award was presented at the MIFF 2025 in Los Angeles, California. GMA Pictures President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and ABS-CBN Films Head Kriz Gazmen accepted the award, marking a significant achievement in their first collaboration. Undoubtedly, the film’s success is a testament to their joint efforts in producing this box-office hit.
According to GMA Pictures, the film reached an impressive P1.6 billion in gross sales following its worldwide release in November 2024. This milestone makes “Hello, Love, Again” the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
The movie’s success lies not only in its box-office earnings but also in its emotional connection with audiences. Moreover, the film is now available for streaming on Netflix, allowing global viewers to enjoy the heartfelt continuation of Joy and Ethan’s story.
In addition to “Hello, Love, Again”, the MIFF 2025 ceremony honored other films, such as “Song of the Fireflies” from MQuest Ventures, which won five awards, including Best Picture. The film also earned three acting awards: Best Actress (Morisette), Best Supporting Actress (Rachel Alejandro), and Best Supporting Actor (Noel Comia Jr.). Seth Fedelin took home the Best Actor award for his role in “My Future You”.
The Manila International Film Festival 2025 showcased the incredible talent within the Filipino film industry. It also brought international attention to the growth of Philippine cinema.
