Kim Chiu and Julia Barretto continue to represent Filipino talent on the global stage with their recent nominations at the 2024 Asian Television Awards (ATA).

Kim Chiu is up for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Secretary Kimberly Liwanag in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? This show is the Philippine adaptation of the popular South Korean drama.

Kim faces stiff competition from some of Asia-Pacific’s finest actors, including:

  • Robyn Malcolm from Australia (After the Party)
  • Zhou Xun from China (Imperfect Victim)
  • Wu Jin Yan from China (The Double)

This nomination adds to Kim’s growing list of international recognitions, such as:

  • The Outstanding Asian Star award at the 2024 Seoul International Drama Awards
  • A Best Female Lead nomination for her role in Linlang at the 2024 ContentAsia Awards

Julia Barretto has also earned a nomination at the ATA 2024. She is competing in the Best Leading Female in a Digital Show category for her role as Maya in Secret Ingredient. This digital series has earned her widespread praise.

In the series, Julia plays an aspiring chef who enters a cooking competition to win prize money for her mother’s medical treatment. Secret Ingredient has also been nominated for Best Original Digital Drama Series, further proving its popularity and success.
