On February 25, 2025, volleyball star Michele Gumabao and Aldo Panlilio got married in a heartfelt ceremony at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Makati City. The wedding began at 5 p.m. and was attended by family, friends, and Michele’s teammates from the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Michele and Aldo’s relationship began in 2017 when a mutual friend introduced them at a restaurant in Pasig City. Aldo, a strength and conditioning coach for the San Miguel Beermen, already knew about Michele’s volleyball career. Their conversations grew into daily chats, which eventually turned into a lasting relationship.
On August 9, 2024, the couple announced their engagement, marking their eighth anniversary together.
Michele achieved recognition in volleyball, playing for the DLSU Lady Spikers in college and later with the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Meanwhile, Aldo pursued a career in sports science, working with professional basketball players.
Both studied at De La Salle University, with Michele earning a degree in Marketing Management and Aldo taking up Legal Management before pursuing Diplomatic Affairs at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
The wedding was a mix of personal touches and grand traditions. Before the big day, Michele celebrated with a funeral-themed bridal shower, a playful nod to saying goodbye to single life. Their Despedida de Soltera, a pre-wedding gathering, was an intimate event with family and close friends.
Wedding photos and videos circulated on social media, with Nice Print Photo capturing special moments. The bride wore a classic white gown, while the groom looked dashing in a traditional suit.
In July 2024, Michele hinted at her return to show business, expressing interest in action series or movies. She also reflected on her pageant journey, having won Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 and placing second runner-up in Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
Michele and Aldo’s love story continues as they embark on this new journey together. Their wedding was a celebration of love, commitment, and shared dreams.
