Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo is donating all net ticket sales from her sold-out Manila concert. The proceeds will go to Jhpiego Philippines, a nonprofit focused on providing healthcare to women and girls.
“I’m so stoked that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to @jhpiego through my fund 4 good,” Rodrigo shared on her Instagram. “I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines.”
Grateful for the Opportunity to Give Back
The singer, known for her hit songs like “Driver’s License” and “Good 4 U,” expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to perform in the Philippines and to contribute to a meaningful cause. “It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. To say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it! Mahal kita,” she added.
Rodrigo’s visit to the Philippines marked a significant moment in her career, as it was her first time performing in the country and her biggest venue to date. “Been dreaming of this show for a whileeeee. My first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever!!!!!” she exclaimed on social media.
The singer’s decision to donate proceeds from her Manila concert reflects her commitment to philanthropy. This donation is part of her broader Fund 4 Good initiative, which she launched in February 2023. Fund 4 Good aims to promote equity and justice for women, girls, and individuals seeking reproductive health freedom. Through this global effort, the singer continues to champion important causes and support those in need.
In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Rodrigo has also been vocal about her experiences as an Asian-American artist in the U.S. She has spoken openly about the importance of representation and the impact it can have on young people. “I sometimes get DMs from little girls being like, ‘I’ve never seen someone who looked like me in your position.’ And I’m literally going to cry. Like, just thinking about it,” Rodrigo said in a 2021 interview with V Magazine. “I feel like I grew up never seeing that. Also, it was always like, ‘pop star’ — that’s a white girl.”
