Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach took to Instagram to address the wave of negative messages she has been receiving. The beauty queen shared a screenshot of a direct message that criticized her fashion choices and personal life.
A user questioned her handbag collection, stating, “Why black and brown Hermes purse is all you got? Para madali iterno? ‘Di afford unique design??” The message escalated further, with the sender expressing hopes for Pia’s divorce from husband Jeremy Jauncey and suggesting she would end up as a single mother.
Alongside the screenshot, Pia wrote, “Just another day, another DM. Wild, right?” She called for an end to toxic online behavior, urging the public to embrace kindness.
The beauty queen, known for her advocacy work, reminded followers that such messages should not be normalized. “It’s exhausting, and hurtful din ha. Let’s stop normalizing this kind of online behavior,” she stated. Additionally, she encouraged netizens to make 2025 a year of positivity and support.
This is not the first time Pia has faced criticism. She previously urged the Miss Universe Organization to take action against hateful commenters and frequently uses the hashtag #NoHateJustLove in response to negativity.
Pia has also received backlash for attending fashion weeks, with some detractors claiming she does not belong in high fashion circles. Responding to critics, she asserted, “The more you tell me no, the more I’m going to try to prove you wrong.”
She emphasized that negative comments will never define her career or choices, adding, “Nothing fuels me more than negativity, bashers, and people who diminish my efforts.”
Despite the online hate, Pia remains a powerful voice in the industry, advocating for a culture of respect and empowerment.
Pia joins a growing list of celebrities speaking out against online hate. Many public figures face harsh criticism, from personal attacks to false accusations. She continues to promote self-worth and resilience, inspiring her supporters to focus on their goals rather than negativity.
As social media remains a platform for both connection and conflict, Pia’s response highlights the need for more responsible and respectful digital interactions. Her message is clear—kindness should always win.
