Marvin Agustin found himself in the hot seat when Boy Abunda revisited the question of whether Jolina Magdangal was his “The One That Got Away (TOTGA).”
The beloved ’90s love team reunited on the January 30 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda to promote their film Ex Ex Lovers. As they reminisced about their MarJo days, Boy reminded Marvin that he previously dodged the TOTGA question. This time, Marvin had to answer with Jolina by his side.
the Witty Response of marvin agustin
Marvin jokingly hesitated, saying, “Baka masapak ako!” in reference to Jolina’s husband, Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta. His reaction drew laughter from the audience, but Jolina took the lead in answering.
“I think hindi kasi never naman siya nawala. Nandiyan pa rin siya para sa’kin ‘pag kailangan ko ng kasama,” she said, emphasizing their enduring friendship.
The actors then talked about “Ex Ex Lovers.” Jolina described it as a dream project where she and Marvin get to bring MarJo fans another thing to cherish.
Marvin echoed her sentiment, highlighting that their deep connection mattered more than labels.
Their upcoming movie Ex Ex Lovers, directed by JP Habac, tells the story of former lovers navigating co-parenting while reflecting on their past. Jolina described it as a dream project, a gift to their longtime supporters.
The film also features Loisa Andalio, Juan Karlos, Judy Ann Santos, and Mylene Dizon. It is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on February 12, just in time for Valentine’s season.
Lessons on Love
Before the show ended, Boy asked what they knew about love now that they didn’t back then.
Marvin answered, “Ang pagmamahal na totoo ay ‘yung may respeto at suporta. Ito ‘yung klase ng pagmamahal na alam mong panghabambuhay.”
With their film’s release approaching, fans can expect Ex Ex Lovers to rekindle the magic of MarJo’s golden years, proving that some bonds stand the test of time.
