In 2024, SB19 members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin stepped into solo ventures while maintaining their strong group identity. Although they released hits like “Kalakal” and “Moonlight” as a group, they focused on expanding their individual talents and building their solo careers.
Pablo made significant strides with two solo albums, Alon and Laon. His energetic tracks like “Tambol (Ibang Planeta)” showcased his creative evolution, while slower, more introspective songs like “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” revealed his emotional depth. Beyond music, Pablo directed the short film Una and coached on The Voice Kids, leading a young contestant to victory.
Josh had one of the busiest years, earning Solo Artist of the Year at the P-pop Music Awards. His debut album, Lost & Found, explored personal experiences, aiming to connect with listeners on a deeper level. Josh also collaborated with hip-hop artist Al James and K-pop group H1-Key, showing his versatility.
Stell made a highly anticipated solo debut with “Room,” blending his smooth vocals with a Bruno Mars-inspired style. His performances at major events, including The Voice Kids and the “Street Boys Reunion Dance” concert, highlighted his growth as a vocalist.
Ken, under his stage name Felip, released the album 7sins, which explored themes of human emotions and complexities. His music made waves in Japan, where he became the first Filipino artist in 27 years to top the all-genre rankings and led a successful concert tour.
Justin showcased his creativity with his solo debut “surreal,” which featured dreamy visuals and introspective lyrics. He followed it up with “kaibigan,” a heartfelt song about developing feelings for a friend.
Despite these solo projects, SB19 has remained unified as a group. With hints of new music on the horizon, fans eagerly await what the future holds. SB19’s ability to balance their solo achievements while staying committed to their group makes them a standout force in P-pop.
