The Famous Lea Salonga
Lea Salonga is very popular even in the other country because of her very powerful voice. She has a perfect pitch that is very unique. She is also known in her Tony-award winning role in Miss Saigon.
Moreover, she was recognized as the “Disney Legend”. She was the singing voice of Disney Fa Mulan for Mulan and Mulan II and Princess Jasmine from Alladin. Therefore, Walt Disney Company bestowed her with that title.
Bayanihan Musikahan
With the passion to help the frontliners of the COVID-19, Lea made an hour Facebook Live Concert. She streamed an hour-long concert in her own home last Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Lea is one of the artists who made their voices way to raise funds for the COVID-19 frontline workers. “Bayanihay, Musikahan” is an online concert series where Salonga is part of.
Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jaya, Martin Nievera, Jed Madela, Ebe Dancel, Chito Miranda, Raymund Marsigan, Cherie Gil, Agot Isidro, Jim Paredes, Noel Cabangon, Aicelle Santos, Morissette, Christian Bautista, Mark Bautista, Nyoy Volante, Ice Seguerra, Dingdong Avanzado, Juris Fernandez, Karylle, Yael Yuzon, Sitti and some other artists join heart for the goal.
Mr. Ryan Cayabyab hosted the said series. They were able to raise 22.3 million pesos from the launching last March 18 excluding the concerts that were streamed last Thursday. The online concert of Lea was able to raise 1 million after an hour.
“That’s amazing!” Salonga said. There’s no such thing as too small of a contribution or a donation,” she added, “because when you pool all of these resources together, it becomes one whole big thing and so many people will be able to get the help that they need, the protection that they need.”
In conclusion, these artists are proof that the gift and ability we possess may used to help people in need.
