Beauty Gonzalez’s daughter, Olivia Ines Crisologo, has stepped into the spotlight with her acting debut in the film “Pakil.” At just eight years old, she plays the younger version of her mother’s character, Christina, in the Lemuel Lorca-directed film.
Initially, Beauty thought Olivia’s role would be a simple walk-on part. However, once on set, her daughter was given lines and even had to perform a crying scene. Beauty shared her surprise and pride, saying, “At first, I thought she would just walk and wave. But suddenly, she had lines, and then she had to cry.”
Despite the challenge, Olivia delivered a natural performance, impressing both her mother and the film’s crew. Beauty noticed how her daughter picked up her mannerisms and adapted quickly, possibly from years of watching her on set.
While Olivia enjoyed the experience, Beauty made it clear that acting is not her daughter’s priority for now. She wants Olivia to focus on her education before considering a career in showbiz. “She had fun, but for now, school comes first,” Beauty said.
Beauty was joined at the premiere by her husband, art curator Norman Crisologo, who was just as proud of Olivia’s performance. He preferred to stay behind the scenes, letting his wife and daughter shine.
The film follows Christina, an actress who believes she is past her prime. She returns to her hometown to revive the dying art of komedya. The movie, described as a love letter to Pakil, Laguna, also stars JM de Guzman, Yayo Aguila, and Lou Veloso.
“Pakil” opens in cinemas on February 12.
Would Olivia follow in her mother’s footsteps? Only time will tell. But for now, her impressive debut has left fans eager to see what’s next.
