Bianca Umali on Working with Nora Aunor in Mananambal

Bianca Umali described her experience working with Nora Aunor as a “masterclass in acting.” During the media conference at Viva Café on February 6, she reflected on the moments she shared with the National Artist for Film and Broadcast in their upcoming movie Mananambal.

Nervous Yet Inspiring Scene

Bianca admitted feeling nervous while filming her final scene with Aunor.

“It was one of those days na kaming dalawa lang po ang magkasama on set. It was not a comfortable situation to be in, pero being there with her and seeing her act as if she was as young as she used to be, it was magical,” she shared.

She described the experience as a learning opportunity, calling it a “masterclass” that deepened her passion for acting.

Finding Inspiration in Nora Aunor

Bianca expressed admiration for Aunor’s dedication and trust in her co-actors.

“The way she trusts her colleagues, regardless of their role, is something I have learned as part of the new generation of actors,” Bianca said.

She also hopes to inspire others in the same way Aunor has influenced her.

“No matter how cruel this world is, you hold on to what you love doing and use it to inspire others,” Bianca added.

Mananambal A Horror Thriller

Directed by Adolfo Alix Jr., Mananambal follows a group of content creators searching for Lucia (Aunor), a healer whose powers have gone viral. They encounter Alma (Umali), Lucia’s strong-willed daughter, who resists following her mother’s path.

As they push their limits, the creators find themselves in a nightmarish series of horrifying events, haunted by an unknown force.

The film also stars Kelvin Miranda, Edgar Allan Guzman, Jeric Gonzales, and Martin Escudero.

Mananambal will be in cinemas nationwide on February 19.
